The door works great. It's tall enough to keep my jumper from getting over and out. It was easy to install and the fact that it's held in by pressure makes it perfect for us.
We love our gate. It works very well for two big dogs and a high jumper.. It is the only solution we could find that worked for us in the area we have it.. We did receive the first gate and it lasted a month before a little part broke off so that the gate did not open or close properly. Fairy baby was amazing and sent us a replacement quickly. Very thankful to have found this solution for us

The extra tall gate is exactly what we needed. It's extremely sturdy and impenetrable by our resident cat who is not keen yet on our new rescue kitty. The resident cat tried her darndest to get her paws on the new kitty, but the gate kept them both separated and didn't budge. Now they're getting used to each other with the barrier of the gate. The gate was very easy to install, only took about 15 minutes. The delivery was quick and arrived when the tracking said it would. We had a little hiccup with the gate arriving with a broken piece, but the FairyBaby customer service team responded promptly to our issue and sent us a new gate immediately. The customer service and quality of the product exceeded our expectations. I will use FairyBaby again for any additional gates needed. Very happy with the purchase and experience.
Absolutely LOVE the gate and have purchased at least three of them for our non-profit rescue foster homes. Unfortunately, Fairy Baby would not give me a discount, and I believe that is an awful way to treat a legitimate, non-profit Rescue Organization after they have spent over a thousand dollars. You couldn't even give them a break? I guess the money is more important than helping the animals?
I have an older and younger cat who are not getting along when left alone. We were putting one up in a bedroom when we were gone, but it started being an issue at night, too. They didn’t like being alone all night in a room. Put up the gate and now each has a section of the house at night and no crying and no fighting. And the best news is everyone is getting some sleep!!
At first I thought I was in trouble as it's not a sliding width. But its design allows you to set it up in whatever width you need, which was a great relief.
This is exactly what I was looking for to help separate cats for years! I foster, and my house cats aren't huge fans of cat and kitten guests so this helps socialize the fosters and keep the regulars at a distance. I also have a pair that fight sometimes so I can also use this to give them space while still having plenty of room. Easy to put together and very durable, I love how it fits with the extensions to many size entryways. The door itself is a little heavy to lift at times but not too bad. The automatic swing has helped prevent escapees already so that is a plus. It's also great to be able to prop the door open when bringing in groceries or moving laundry. Only issue I've had is the bottom latch stopper sticking, but some WD-40 helped lubricate it again. Definitely going to need another one to create an open craft room that we can close off rooms without regular doors whenever needed from the feline house overlords. I've already sent this to everyone I know with cats so they'll experience how great these cat gates are too!
We got a new kitten and he’’d jump right over the child gate we had set up to keep him in the family room … however, this tall gate from Fair Baby is exactly what we needed and though he’s tried to chew his way out through the metal bars, he has not attempted to jump over it! Their customer service department is unbelievable proactive…over the years they’ve sent several replacement parts when we’ve reached out to them … we are very, very happy customers and definitely recommend this tall gate.
"Cat thwarting" is a priority in this household. We have three kittens who are approaching adulthood. (We did not adopt them - they were "donated" by a mother cat across the street who thought this would be a good home for them.) Gradually, even a five foot pet gate could be overcome, but a six foot gate stopped them cold!
I bought this gate to divide two rival cats in my house. The height is exactly what I was looking for, and it was very hard to find it. Setting the gate up was easy and comfortable, and quality is good. Only issue, the opening system is a bit hard for my wife
My opening is around 37.7 inches, I didn't know whether to go for 29.8-37.7 or 37.7-45.6 inches, in the end, based on the condition of my opening, customer service suggested the most suitable width for me, and it is very practical to install it, thank you Fairy baby.
This is the second door I've bought and the peace of mind that my cats are in a safe area in the main part of the house and that my air conditioning is at a more comfortable temperature makes it all worthwhile.
Keeping both doors closed was creating a big problem with my house temperatures.It was 65f downstairs and 80f upstairs. The ac was not turning off. Even with an eccobee sensor it was still too far apart in temperature to be comfortable in either area .I installed the gate in less than 10 minutes .Within 2 hours with the help of a fan on the other side of the gate.The downstairs is now 70 and the upstairs is 73...huge difference!
The door opens and closes so easily you have to lift it to open. Which I prefer. My cat can't push it open. The bars are close together so he can't stick is head through.
It's definitely cat proof if your cat is not a jumper
Mine isn't..
I took a chance on putting this on my double French doors..it's against the the door frame on one side and the other is butted up against the closed French door side. It's holding really well. No movement at all... I did anchor it to door with hook and zip tie...just in case it moves. I don't want it falling..but miraculously it's so stable especially with that bottom piece I doubt it would fall with normal use...but just to be safe...I anchored it
We have 4 cats and 2 elderly with a bathroom right at the top of the steps. Needless to say this makes me nervous so to add some safety for the seniors and control the cats this was perfect. It prevents the cats from tripping them or startling them in the middle of the night but also adds some safety to prevent accidental falls.
Cut the last zip tie once the gate is securely fastened and verify operation by lifting the entire door up by the handle and swing it the way you want. It will swing either way .hope it will help you .
I tightened these as best I could by hand but do to a medical condition I then used a pair of channel locks to carefully snug them up until the gap between the door and the jamb closed to the specified 0.059". I don't recommend using channel locks.
The gate is a tough game and quite secure when installed correctly. It did cost a little more than I feel it should but it was the best option for us. The cats cannot get over it and we have 2 that can launch themselves into refrigerators. I've added some pictures. I hope this helps you in your decision.
